Roles of the PAC Executive

  1. President acts as the primary leader and official spokesperson for the council, responsible for presiding over meetings, ensuring the PAC meets its constitutionally defined goals, and liaising with school administration. The President also leads both executive and general meetings, sets agendas, and appoints committee members ↩︎
  2. The Vice President supports the President, steps in to lead meetings or acts as chair in their absence, and helps manage, organize, and oversee PAC activities and initiatives. They often act as a key support role, assisting with administrative tasks, special projects, and ensuring the PAC’s goals are met ↩︎
  3. The Treasurer acts as the custodian of all council funds, responsible for managing finances, maintaining accurate records, and providing transparent reporting to members. Key duties include preparing annual budgets, depositing funds, disbursing authorized payments, and reporting on financial health at meetings. ↩︎
  4. The Secretary acts as the record-keeper and communicator for the executive team, ensuring meetings are documented and members are informed. Key duties include recording and distributing meeting minutes, handling correspondence, managing the constitution, and maintaining organized records of all PAC activities. ↩︎
  5. The DPAC (District Parent Advisory Council) Representative acts as the vital liaison between their school’s parent group and the district-level parent organization. They attend DPAC meetings, vote on behalf of the school, and communicate district-wide education policies and initiatives back to their local PAC. ↩︎
  6. Members at Large (MAL) act as flexible members of the executive team, supporting school events, leading initiatives, and providing general input without the obligation of a specific portfolio like Chair or Treasurer. They help organize campaigns, assist with fundraisers, or act as communication liaisons. ↩︎
