District PAC

DPACs (District PACs) are the legislated parent voice at the school district level, representing the collective views of school PACs in a school district. DPACs advise the Board of Education on any matter relating to education in their school district and advocate for parental involvement in the education system by giving input into the development of education policy. As an official stakeholder, the DPAC is offered seat(s) on district committees such as policy, finance or budget etc.

Who Can Become A Member Of DPAC?
Any parent advisory council (PAC) in the school district can appoint one elected parent representative to be a member of the District Parent Advisory Council (DPAC). Only parents or guardians of children currently enrolled in the district’s public schools are eligible.

What Does DPAC Do?
DPACs support and encourage PACs and parents in accessing the school system at all levels by providing regular forums for the exchange of ideas and information to ensure that public education serves the best interests of all students.

DPAC meets on the third Thursday of every month at 7 pm. In-person meetings are held at the Langley School Board Office in Murrayville. For virtual meetings, please see the DPAC site below.

The agenda and meeting minutes for each DPAC meeting can be found in the DPAC newsletter to which you can subscribe to below.
